If you have a few minutes between now and the meeting then please take a look at the Working Group’s webpage paying particular attention to the charge and whether or not it is sufficiently complete. Would like to talk through each item in the charge soliciting comments all along the way.
Beyond that let’s discuss Martha’s statement on the mandatory faculty program which is to be more than just  a heightened level of diversity and inclusion training. She is asking us to develop “a new set of programs focusing on the history of race, racism and colonialism in the United States, designed to ensure understanding of how inherited social and historical forces have shaped our society today, and how they affect interactions inside and outside of our classrooms, laboratories and studios.”  What is the best way to do this and how might such a program be delivered? No homework necessary. Initial thoughts just fine.
