WG-F Charge

The Working Group must communicate its proposal  to the Senate n December making sure that  it takes these questions into consideration:

  1. How would the required programming go beyond the  diversity-related programming that is currently offered through the  Office of Faculty Development and Diversity  as well as through the  CITE, the IDP, the CTI  and the Faculty Institute for Diversity?
  2. Is there anything  to  copy or modify from the online course module  approach that defines the mandatory program for staff?
  3. If the educational program is mandatory, then how can it be embedded into existing faculty commitments so that it does not unreasonably stress faculty schedules?
  4. Would the proposed Center have a role to  play in the delivery of  this requirement and what would be its connection to the proposed  educational requirement for students?
  5. Is it possible to enhance accountability and a commitment to antiracism by embellishing the evaluative processes associated with promotions and program reviews? The Working Group should explore these possibilities with the Academic Freedom and Professional Status of the Faculty Committee and the Faculty Committee on Program Review.respectively.
