The tenure review typically begins in the last year of the probationary period, once the dean has granted permission to begin the process. Consult department head for details, as practices vary across colleges, schools, and departments.
Assembling the Tenure Dossier
The candidate is responsible for providing the department head with a current, complete curriculum vita with list of publications, as well as statements of goals and achievements in research, teaching, advising, and extension/service (if applicable to one’s role). The department or candidate adds the candidate’s original job description, appointment and reappointment letters, and annual reviews to the file.
