4.5 University Assembly Results

Support CRP-A = 4
Support CRP-B =  1
Support Neither =  2

Comments from those who support CRP-B:

Graduate students in Linguistics (my department) overwhelmingly support CRP-B. Considering CRP-B is also the preference shown in the GPSA vote, I am also voting CRP-B.

Comments from those who support neither:

I think we should use the Campus Code of Conduct for this “policy”

Analysis

There is deep concern in the UA that the CRP belongs in the Campus Code of Conduct. This explains the large number of no-votes when the UA considered the 3-way ballot.

The Committee’s view from the very start has been that the CRP is to be situated in the University Policy Library along with  Policy 6.4. Indeed, this destination for the final policy is mentioned in the charge from the President.

The Campus Code is quite emphatic when the issues at hand occur in the workplace:

The procedures of this Code shall not apply to faculty members or other University employees who are accused of employment-related misconduct. (Title II, Article 1, Section C, Paragraph 2).

From the Committee’s point of view, the  CRP is concerned ONLY with workplace issues.
